Virgin Voyages

The rebel of the seas — adults-only ships that feel like boutique hotels, twenty-plus eateries instead of a buffet, and a party that turns the whole ship scarlet.

Best forCouples, friend groups, honeymooners, and confirmed cruise skeptics who need exactly one voyage to change their minds
01 · The Vibe

A boutique hotel that sails

Virgin threw out the cruise rulebook: adults only (18+), no buffet, no formal nights, no announcements at breakfast, and no nickel-and-diming — tips, Wi-Fi, group fitness, and every restaurant are already in the fare. What's left feels like a design hotel with a tattoo parlor and a very good record collection.

The crowd is couples, friend crews, and honeymooners in their 30s through 60s, and the mood is festival-weekend-meets-spa-day. It is, by a wide margin, the line we book for people who swear they hate cruises.

02 · The Fleet

Four Lady Ships

The fleet is four identical sisters — Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, and the new Brilliant Lady — so there's no ship-class homework: pick the itinerary, and the hardware is equally good everywhere. The design brief was superyacht, not cruise ship, and it shows in every lounge.

Cabins run from cozy insides with mood lighting to RockStar Quarters — suites with guitars in the room, terrace hammocks, and access to Richard's Rooftop, the members-club sundeck at the bow.

03 · Onboard

Twenty tables, zero buffets

Food is the flex: more than twenty eateries, all included — a supper-club called The Wake, Korean barbecue you grill yourself, a test-kitchen tasting menu, late-night pizza that actually slaps. No main dining hall, no assigned times, no upcharge menus hiding the good stuff.

Nights escalate from drag brunch to acrobatic shows to Scarlet Night, when the whole ship dresses in red and the pool deck becomes the dance floor. The Redemption spa's thermal suite handles the morning after.

04 · Where They Sail

Miami nights, Bimini days

The bread and butter is four- and five-night Caribbean runs from Miami, nearly all calling at The Beach Club at Bimini — Virgin's private beach day with a pool DJ who understands both the assignment and the nap window. Longer sailings thread the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Ships also season in Europe and beyond — Mediterranean summers, transatlantic repositioning parties, and Brilliant Lady's rotations out of new home ports — so the second Virgin cruise doesn't have to repeat the first.

05 · Who It's For

The never-cruisers

Book Virgin for anniversaries, adult friend-group getaways, honeymoons that want fun over formality, and anyone whose objection to cruising is buffets, crowds of kids, or feeling processed. None of those exist here.

It's obviously not the family answer — and travelers who love classic cruise traditions (formal night photos, midnight buffets, towel animals) will find Virgin cheerfully burned that boat. That's the brand.

MissMe Tip

Virgin prices by cabin, not per person, with tips and Wi-Fi already included — sticker-price comparisons against other lines will mislead you every time. We run the real math side by side.
