Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure are the classic pair — connected by the Hogwarts Express, home to VelociCoaster and Hagrid's, and packed with the rides people cross the country for. Add Volcano Bay's water park and CityWalk and you have a resort that runs at a completely different voltage than the one down the road.
The insider math here is hotels. Stay on-site and the perks stack up fast — early park admission across the resort, and at the premier hotels, Unlimited Express Pass included for your whole party. Sometimes the “splurge” hotel is actually the budget move, and we'll happily show you that spreadsheet.
Before you buy Express Passes for the family, let us price the hotels that include them. Two nights at the right property can beat four days of add-ons — that's math we run for every Universal quote.
Epic Universe
Universal's biggest swing in decades — a third Orlando theme park built around Celestial Park and four worlds you enter through portals: Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon's Isle of Berk, and the monsters of Dark Universe.
It's spectacular, it's popular, and it plays by its own rules — tickets, crowd patterns, and ride reservations here work differently than at the classic parks, and they keep evolving. This is exactly the kind of moving target we track so you don't have to.
Epic deserves its own full day — don't wedge it into a half-day slot. We'll sequence your park days so the big headliners land before the afternoon waves do.
Universal Studios Hollywood
A working movie studio with a theme park attached. The Studio Tour is still the heart of it — backlots, Jaws, and set pieces you've seen a hundred times on screen — wrapped in a compact park with Super Nintendo World, Hogsmeade, and the Waterworld show that somehow never gets old.
It's genuinely doable in one well-planned day, which makes it the perfect anchor for a bigger Southern California trip: pair it with Disneyland, a beach afternoon, or the drive up the coast.
Go at opening and ride the Studio Tour before midday backups, then work the upper lot while everyone else discovers the escalators. We'll map the day hour by hour.
