Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Giraffes outside the window, zebra at breakfast — a horseshoe of savannas where the room view is the headline attraction.

01 · The Vibe

A lodge on the savanna

Animal Kingdom Lodge curves its thatched wings around thirty-plus acres of savanna where giraffe, zebra, ankole cattle, and okapi graze in view of the balconies. Firelit lobbies, night-vision animal viewing, and cultural ambassadors sharing stories make it the most transporting resort Disney has built.

The pace is intentionally unhurried — this is the resort where sleeping in counts as an activity, because the savanna comes to you.

02 · The Rooms

Choose your view wisely

Savanna-view rooms are the reason to come: animals drifting past from sunrise coffee to nightfall. Pool- and standard-view rooms keep the lodge atmosphere at gentler prices — a fair play if you'd rather spend the difference at the restaurants. Balconies are near-universal; binoculars are provided vibes.

03 · Villa Life Here

Jambo House & Kidani Village

Villas live in both buildings: studios through grand villas atop Jambo House, and the quieter, all-villa Kidani Village next door with its own savanna, pool, and restaurant. Kidani's underrated calm — and Sanaa downstairs — make it a favorite of ours for longer family stays. No membership needed.

04 · Pools & Dining

The best restaurant bench on property

Uzima Springs pool sprawls under the palms at Jambo, with Kidani's Samawati Springs and its splash area for kids. The food is destination-grade: Boma's African-inspired buffet, Jiko's fine dining, and Sanaa's bread service with savanna views — a meal people book the resort to reach.

05 · Getting Around

Buses, one park close

Animal Kingdom park is minutes by bus; the other parks and Disney Springs run direct. It's the trade for the savanna's remove — evenings at the lodge are so good the commute rarely gets a vote.

MissMe Tip

Not every savanna-view room faces the same herds — tell us who wants giraffes at the balcony and we'll request the savanna and floor that deliver.
