Evenings are the point here — the nightly boat to Disney Springs, live piano at River Roost, and lamplit walks that make you forget a theme park is minutes away.
Mansions, lodges, and a royal flourish
Alligator Bayou rooms squeeze in a fifth sleeper via trundle — rare and useful at this tier. The Royal Rooms in Magnolia Bend go full fairy tale: headboards with fiber-optic fireworks, princess-and-frog details, and a location worth requesting for the kid mid-princess-phase.
An island built for cannonballs
Ol' Man Island anchors the resort — pool, slide, hot tub, and an old-fashioned fishing hole where kids catch-and-release bluegill. Riverside Mill's food court grinds away inside the gristmill, Boatwright's does hearty Cajun-leaning dinners, and River Roost's live piano nights are a cult favorite.
Take the river when you can
Buses cover all four parks; the Sassagoula boat drifts to Disney Springs and back all evening — the commute you'll actually miss when the trip ends. French Quarter is a riverside stroll away for beignet runs.
