Hollywood that never was — and a galaxy that is
Hollywood Studios opens as a golden-age postcard — deco marquees, streetmosphere actors bantering in 1940s costume — and then hands you a lightsaber. It's the most headliner-dense park on property for its size: nearly everything here is somebody's favorite ride.
It's also mid-metamorphosis: the Muppets are taking over the big coaster on Sunset, and steel is rising for a Monsters, Inc. land beyond. The backlot keeps rebuilding itself, which is very on-brand.
From Batuu to Andy's backyard
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is the gravity well — a full planet's worth of spires, droids, and blue milk, anchored by Rise of the Resistance and the Millennium Falcon (now flying a brand-new smuggling mission). Next door, Toy Story Land shrinks you to toy size under Andy's string lights.
Sunset Boulevard runs the thrill row — the Tower of Terror looming at the end, the coaster beside it mid-transformation into a Muppets show — while Echo Lake and Animation Courtyard hold Star Tours, the stage shows, and the little-kid corner.
The strongest top shelf in Florida
Rise of the Resistance is still the most ambitious ride Disney has ever built — a full escape sequence that never shows the same seams twice. Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway charms everyone who doubted it, Slinky Dog Dash is the family coaster perfected, and the Tower of Terror's drops remain gloriously unfair.
Smugglers Run puts your crew in the Falcon's cockpit — flying the new mission — and Toy Story Mania settles family rivalries in 4D. The Muppets' coaster takeover on Sunset is the newest headline; we'll tell you its status the week you travel.
Dinner and a show, literally
The themed-dining hall of fame lives here: the Sci-Fi Dine-In seats you in convertibles under a drive-in night sky, 50's Prime Time Café serves meatloaf with a side of being scolded by “Mom,” and the Hollywood Brown Derby does old-Hollywood elegance and the original Cobb salad.
In Galaxy's Edge, Oga's Cantina is the hardest table in the park — book it the minute windows open — and Docking Bay 7 quietly serves the best quick service on property. Woody's Lunch Box handles grilled cheese and totchos for the Toy Story crowd.
Fantasmic! and the streetmosphere
Fantasmic! fills its own amphitheater with Mickey's dreams, water screens, and a dragon — the classic Disney night show, and worth planning the evening around. Daytime brings the Frozen Sing-Along's comedians, Disney Junior for the smallest fans, and the Citizens of Hollywood improvising on the boulevards.
After dark, Galaxy's Edge is a different planet — spires lit, Crait trenches glowing. Stay late even if you've ridden everything.
One intense, brilliant day
Studios is a one-day park with a two-day appetite — the fix is strategy. Rope drop decides everything: we send you to Slinky or the Railway first, hold Rise of the Resistance for its steadier midday window, and lean on Lightning Lane hardest here of any park. Book Oga's and the table-service anchor the morning reservations open.
Grab Fantasmic! seating early or dine-package it, and keep the last hour for Galaxy's Edge at night. Construction note: with the Sunset coaster mid-Muppets rebirth, we double-check the attraction lineup for your exact dates before we lock the plan.
