Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Seven hundred fifty acres of pine and cypress with a boat to the castle — bring an RV, pitch a tent, or book the brand-new cabins and let the woods do the theming.

Best forRV travelers, campfire families, and anyone Disney-ing off the beaten path

01 · The Vibe

Disney's national-park side

Fort Wilderness trades castles for canopy: deer at the fence lines, golf carts humming down pine-shaded loops, and the Electrical Water Pageant floating past the beach at night. It runs on its own rhythm — campfires, corrals, kayaks — while sitting one boat ride from Magic Kingdom.

It's also home to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, the long-running dinner show that regulars treat as non-negotiable, and the nightly campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale.

02 · The Campsites

Full hookups, full immersion

Hundreds of campsites handle everything from tents to big rigs — full hookups, grills, and comfort stations with private showers throughout the loops. Golf-cart rentals are the beloved local custom, and loop placement (near the marina, pool, or corrals) shapes the whole stay; it's the request we make first.

03 · The Cabins

Brand-new, and villa-official

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness — rebuilt new from 2024 and now part of the Disney Vacation Club family — sleep six with a full kitchen, real bedroom, and a grill-equipped deck facing the trees. You don't need to be a DVC member; we book them like any room. They're the sweet spot for families who want the woods without the tent.

04 · Pools, Ponies & Hoop-Dee-Doo

The busiest quiet resort at Disney

Days fill fast: the Meadow swimming pool with its corkscrew slide, archery and horseback trails, pony rides at Tri-Circle-D Ranch, fishing and boat rentals at the marina. Then Hoop-Dee-Doo's fried chicken and vaudeville at night — book it the day dining opens; we do.

05 · Getting Around

Boats, carts, and internal loops

The boat from the marina to Magic Kingdom is the signature commute; buses cover the other parks with internal loops connecting the campground first. A golf cart isn't required — but nobody who rents one regrets it.

MissMe Tip

Hoop-Dee-Doo and golf carts are the two Fort Wilderness bookings that vanish first — we reserve both the morning your windows open.
